Laptop & xorg /solved/

Toshiba Satellite 2060.
video -S3virge
все это хорошо, иксы поставил, но при запуске startx (xorg.conf бралсьо от вывода Xorg-configure)
имеем :

Проблема в том, что я незнаю частоты монитора, и откуда их взять не представляю дажо (
документации нету, т.к. ноут брался не новый(

Твоя ошибка скорее всего из-за плохой поддержки драйвером видюхи либо иксами выбираемой по дефолку глубины цвета.

а какая разница где их (логи ) читать, имхо?
я тоже думал, что проблема в глубине.
Однако проблема решилась взятием у одного чела с генту.орг хорга.конфа - у него такой же девайс просто) -и главное нашел нормальные частоты монитора.
Хотя и глубина 24 там тоже имеется вроде как (в хорг.конф)-
....

до этого глубина в 16-8-4-1 для таких же остальных параметров -так и не понял правдо зачем столько разных писать? видимо, чтобы оптимальные сами выбрались.
з.ы. а может просто из за разрешения большого (1024х768 я указывал сначало) -а там 800на 600 надо было ,ибо моник маленький (12 дюймовый) и были траблы.
