А если загрузиться с Live CD и посмотреть вывод lsmod, а также вывод dmesg?
Что-то много
Что-то много всего unknown. Попробуй обновить lspci и базу к ней, думается карточка все же есть в списке.
И еще. В этом ноуте никакого "D3201" нет, есть Atheros SL-5354MP, отталкивайся отсюда. Atheros - фирма известная, не может быть, чтобы ее карточка не поддерживалась.

Вывод lspci -s 08:00 -vnn можно? Но сначала update-pciids надо сделать.
С этим ведром, madwif-ng и чипсетом не заработает, я думаю. Может ЭТО поможет?

Unknown device снова в отчете, похоже карточку не видно, действительно может на нее питание не идет, проверьте bios и подачу питания на карточку. Если есть кнопка включения питания, то поможет udevmonitor, запускаем и пробуем включать питание.

Чего вы там пытаетесь найти, не понимаю? Выше уже всё исчерпывающе написал. Если это действительно Atheros, она не будет с этим ядром работать. Нужно ставить madwifi-hal из svn или ядро zen-sources, где уже есть этот же OpenHAL.

Судя по открытым источникам, это чип Atheros 5007, т.е. 168C:001C. ;) Значит со стандартным ядром 2.6.23 и madwifi-ng работать не будет, и всё остальное, как написано выше. =)

Дык я ж ещё в первом посте ссылку дал - там ответ на этот вопрос. =) А если имеется ввиду 2.6.27, так в нём вообще полную поддержку чипов Atheros обещают... ;) У меня тоже такой чип (168C:001C), работает с Zen-Sources/OpenHAL (ath_pci). Модуль может и не заработать с некотрыми SubsystemID, но Вы же так и не показали его. Если окажется, что у вас иной чип, тогда нужно выяснять, что же там всё-таки установлено...

Значит на шине PCI нет ус-в Atheros. Они имеют код 168c. lspci -nn покажет всё, что имеется. Возможно он не включен (в BIOS-е через F2, переключателем и комбинацией с кнопкой Fn). Если дело не в этом, нужно искать в инете (возможно по part-number-у ноута) чем он в точности комплектуются, каким в точности wifi.
